JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: Youth Ministry Associate
Focus of Position: Assist the leadership and direction of the 6th – 12th Grade ministries of Oakwood Community Church, as part of the Next Gen Ministry Team, to assist Oakwood Community Church in pursuing our mission and vision.

Possess a positive, encouraging, teachable attitude.
Passion for raising up the Next Generation to know and follow Jesus for a lifetime.
Bachelor’s degree in Christian Ministry or related field preferred.
Become a member of Oakwood Community Church.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the leadership and direction of all aspects of the Youth Ministries (6th – 12th Grade) of Oakwood Community Church.
Assist in planning and implementing a consistent, intentional mid-week program for the Youth Ministries, with an emphasis in High School Ministry (9th – 12th Grade).
Learn to recruit, lead, and train a volunteer team to assist in building lifelong followers of Jesus through the Youth Ministries.
Work with the Next Gen Ministry Team to build a comprehensive ministry for birth to 18 years old.
Encourage and support parents to fulfill their role in the spiritual nurture of their children.
Participate in connecting, engaging, and discipling students through consistent relational ministry.
Participate in the regular teaching and leadership of the High School Ministry (9th – 12th Grade).
Assist in providing a safe, secure, fun, and relevant learning environment for all students.
Carry out responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor.
Fulfill other duties in coordination with the Staff Team (Christmas, Easter, All-Church Events, Sunday services, etc.).
Relationships:
Reports to the Pastor of Next Generation Ministries for accountability, support, and communication of ministry plans and vision.
Serves on the Next Gen Ministry Team for planning and communication.
Functions as part of the Church Staff to fulfill the mission and vision of Oakwood Community Church.
Compensation:
Full-Time, compensation based on education and experience
